David was born and bred in Bishop's Stortford. He grew up in a Christian home, and became a Christian when he was 13 at a youth camp. Over the years he has been involved in Methodist, Baptist and Anglican churches and he and his wife, Ali, were founder members of the Community Church. |
In 1987 he moved away to work full time as a Youth Pastor in Biggin Hill, at the same time gaining a Diploma in Theology from Spurgeon's College. In 1992 he became an elder in the City Church Canterbury, a large NFI church in East Kent. |

Returning to the Community Church in 1997, he became an elder in 1999, and is mainly involved in teaching and pastoral activities.
David also works full time as a Deputy Head in a secondary school in Chelmsford. He enjoys bird watching and is a keen sportsman, having played hockey to junior international level. He and Ali have three children, Thomas, Emma and Rachel.
